4th of July in Daytona Beach

Across the US today, barbeques are being planned, parades are being organized, red and blue decors are being prepared and firework shows are being drawn up.

The festive atmosphere of the Fourth of July is definitely among us.

Different people celebrate this patriotic holiday in different ways. Some stay at home while others go on vacation. Daytona Beach is one of the favorite destinations among travelers to celebrate Independence Day. If you happen to be in Daytona Beach on July 4, here are the events that you can attend with your friends and family.

Annual Firecracker 4th of July Run
Start 4th of July right by joining the Annual Firecracker 4th of July Run. The race starts at Breakers Oceanfront Park and Environmental Learning Center and guns off at 7:30 am. The route is scenic and involves the packed sands of The World’s Most Famous Beach. Not a runner? No problem. You can walk as well. Bandshell Free Concert: Eagles Tribute and Fireworks Show
The Bandshell Free Concert Series is a signature Daytona Beach event – a free musical treat for everyone at the iconic Bandshell amphitheater located at Oceanfront Park overlooking the majestic Atlantic Ocean. On Independence Day, Alter Eagles – a musical group dedicated to pay homage to the legendary band Eagles – will surely delight the crowd. The concert is at 7:15 pm and will be followed by a majestic fireworks display at 9:45. If you, your friends and your family are music enthusiasts, you should not miss this event. Coke Zero 400
Very few events can rival the celebration that takes place in the annual Coke Zero 400 Race. The 400-mile, 160-lap race has witnessed some of the closest races in history. More than a race it’s a tradition dating back to 1959 and ever since then has hosted some of the best Independence Day celebrations in Florida and probably the entire Southeast US. The Coke Zero 400 is more than just a NASCAR event. There’s a pre-race ceremony dedicated to the Recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor. There’s also a pre-race concert featuring the best artists in the music industry. To cap the celebrations, Coke Zero 400 fans are treated to the longest fireworks display in the entire Southeast US.

Other notable events include the 3rd Annual Joe’s Crab Shack 4th of July Parade. The parade starts on Main Street across A1A, then proceed to the Ocean Ave., then to A1A and it will end at the Peabody Auditorium. Joe’s Crab Shack also hosts a party at its roof deck. You can also go the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, the tallest in Florida. Enjoy great architecture and learn about Florida’s rich maritime history. Of course, the administrators of Ponce Inlet prepared great activities for everyone to enjoy.

We hope you’re as equally excited as us for this year’s 4th of July celebrations. In case you’re in Daytona Beach, don’t forget to drop by Quality Inn Daytona Speedway. We’re a stone’s throw away from the Daytona International Speedway and right in the middle of all the celebrations.
