Rolex 24-Hour Race at Daytona
Rolex 24-Hour Race at Daytona Promises a Va, Va, Va, Vroom Weekend!
All roads lead to Daytona Speedway at the end of January as the best drivers and racing teams in the world gather in one venue for the Rolex 24 at Daytona -- a 24-hour endurance race dubbed as one of the most important motorsports events in North America. For more than five decades, this event has drawn spectators from across the world to satisfy their need for speed or just to participate in the liveries of the said event. This year is quite special. The Rolex 24 at Daytona will be the firs leg of the TUDOR United Sports Car Championship after the unification of the American Le Mans Series and GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.
Quality Inn Daytona Speedway is a stone’s throw away from the historic and iconic racetrack and we’re here to offer you a sneak preview of what you can expect during this fast and furious weekend.
The Best Cars, The Best Drivers and The Chance to Get Up Close and Personal
This year promises to have the most diverse collection of cars in the history of the race hailing from four different classes -- Prototype, Prototype Challenge, GT Le Mans and GT Daytona. Popular car manufacturers such as BMW, Ferrari, Porsche and Audi are all in attendance. Equally impressive is the roster of drivers who will be participating in this year’s race including past winners, emerging racetrack superstars as well as celebrity Patrick Dempsey.
And unlike other races where you’re just watching from afar, the Rolex 24 at Daytona gives you the chance to really get close to the action. You can avail of the Garage Pass where you’ll be a few steps away from the cars and almost come face-to-face with the crew themselves. There’s also the Sprint FANZONE, an autograph session with the race drivers on the morning of January 30. Scoring a signed memorabilia from a major race is not an easy feat, but at Rolex 24 at Dayton, fans will have a field day meeting their racetrack idols.
Not Just for Race Enthusiasts
Not a fan of speeding cars, but want to be in the thick of the hottest event in Daytona Beach on that weekend? Don’t worry. The Rolex 24 at Daytona offers a plethora of side activities for you to choose from.
There’s the Daytona 5K Run and Fun Walk event on the morning of, just before flag off wherein participants will traverse the same racetrack which will later on be used in the race. There’s also a carnival courtesy of the Strates Shows of Orlando, which will feature that largest Ferris Wheel on the East Coast.
A 24-hour race is bound to make people hungry. No problem! There’s the annual wine and cheese party where you can enjoy a variety of cheeses and the best spirits in the city. For foodies, be sure to checkout the “Taste of 24” -- a gastronomic gathering of 24 of Florida’s best restaurants. On the morning of there’s the Cafe 24 Breakfast Garage wherein you can refuel your tummy with a sumptuous breakfast buffet.
The Rolex 24 at Daytona is an event anticipated by racing enthusiasts, but it’s an event for the entire family as well.
